Bad Girls Do It Well

This past weekend was a double-whammy for bad-ass women stepping out in style. On 29 March Bonang Matheba won the Favourite South African Radio DJ Award at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in California. The TV presenter, radio DJ and model was dressed in a custom Gert-Johan Coetzee number, which she posted many pictures of on Instagram. Also representing for stylish, cool girls in LA was Rihanna, who performed her newest single "Bitch Better Have My Money" for the first time at the 2015 iHeart Radio Music Awards. The Barbados born entertainer arrived on stage in a helicopter dressed in head-to-toe Versace.

Trend Piece: Fun with Furs

We are fresh off the tails of fashion month and entering the colder months with a lot of inspiration for autumn trends. One of the biggest being the fur coat trend. The Michael Kors show in New York featured classic three-quarter styles in natural animal tones of grey and brown. At Joseph Altuzarra the classic fur coat was re-imagined in dreamy pastel shades of blue and pink. In London new faux-fur fashion label Shrimps gave the most intriguing take on this textile. The mixture of unexpected patterns and embellishments give these coats their quirky feel. Whether faux or real, fur will be the most luxuriously stylish way to keep warm this autumn.

A Celebration of Acceptance

March 31 marks International Transgender Day of Visibility. The rising amount of suicides in transgender youth and the ongoing violence, particularly against trans women of colour, are what make this day so important. The suicide of seventeen-year-old American transgender girl Leelah Alcorn was one of the key moments that began a public discussion on the visibility of transgender people. The success of trans actress Laverne Cox and trans model Lea T show how, with time, the transgender community is gradually gaining visibility. Trans activist, author and Marie Claire US contributor Janet Mock writes on her website, janetmock.com, "Our visibility at this particular moment in culture is helping reshape the narrative of trans women's lives."

ALL HAIL MARY

This is late but I just couldn't NOT post about how dangerously in love I am with Mary Katrantzou on my blog that no one reads.
Oh well. It had to be done.

London is always the most exciting fashion week for me. There are so many talented designers showing and it restores my faith in fashion every season, reminding me why I like clothes so much in the first place. I really love cool prints and Mary Kantrantzou goes over and above to fulfill my needs. Like, seriously the cut, the fit, all the colours and prints??? How does this all come from one brain? I also love how this collection is a continuation of her last collection for Spring Summer 2011-2012, but still SOOOOO different. In all honesty I have never met a Mary Katrantzou creation I did not like but here are some of my faves.
Um, AM I THE ONLY ONE FREAKING OUT OVER THE SYMMETRY AND HORSES??? (sorry for shouting)

The shapes here are out of control, so much going on but all still works and looks structured. Gwan aahn with your white boots, gurrl.

BOOM! All that colour in yoh fayce! Ugh, sweet saturated perfection...

Yes, FUCKING TYPEWRITER printed on this dress. This has to be my ultimate just for the typewriter.

I love the colours and prints on this.

Ribbonz (really eloquent & enlightening, hey?)

The shoulders. The maze. What more, I ask?

Black gurl werking it out on the runway! Oh and that dress duh.

I also loved the hair and make up. Especially the hair. Everyone loves a good bun. ;)
I suggest you go on vogue.com and look at the full collection, make sure you maginfy each look to see all the lickle details and prepare to have your mind blown. You're welcome.

Hey Nobody

This is a picture of a cat with sunglasses on. Tres cool.
Anyway this is my blog and I thought I'd start it off with a bang of *KEWLNESS*. The internet loves cats. So yeah.
